Second day survived - woohoo. It was a decent day, although I was being tired and a bit moody and whatnot. Staying away from Twitter definitely increased my page count!
The books I read on Monday: Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver; The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle.
Total pages read today: 102 (whee, progress!)
Total books finished: 0
What do my cats think about the books at hand: Robert warmed up to "Flight Behavior" a bit in the end of the day, insisting to purr on my lap while I was reading. He seemed to think the book makes a sufficient kind of "rubbing-against" material, but that I should definitely finish it already and get to some hardcovers.
Flavour of the day: again my boyfriend stayed in the kitchen in the evening and made drool-worthy wraps with mozzarella, rucola and parma ham... Nom.
|Robert seems a bit unsure what to think of this one... (To an extent I agree with him)|
Nice Blog !!ReplyDelete
Hello, I'm doing this read-a-thon too! I'm your newest follower and I wish you the best of luck with this. I hope you can check out my post and follow me back at: Bout of Books 7.0: ChallengeReplyDelete
Hey Laura, thanks for stopping by. I visited your blog as well.Delete
Firstly, I love your mug (VW is the best)and your cat is definitely a cutie. He does look a bit perplexed by Kingsolver but I'm sure he and I will have that in common.ReplyDelete
Well done on your progress yesterday, you had a very successful day :)I'm giving you all the best wishes and support over the internet to finish Kingsolver. 100 pages? You can do it!
Have a good day :D
I love my mug too! Bookish bling is the best :) Thanks, Ellie, I had a good reading day, hope you had too (still waiting for an update, dum dum dum :D) Robert warmed up to Kingsolver, and so did I, so no reason to fear :DDelete
Ok, this cooking boyfriend sounds excellent. MUST get me one of them! And oooh, Kingsolver? I've only read The Poisonwood Bible by her, and I really liked it- so looking forward to hearing what you think of it!ReplyDelete
Hehe, yea, cooking boyfriends are awe-some! I got Poisonwood Bible in my Classics Club list, so I will get to that, eventually. Maybe Flight Behavior was not the best "first Kingsolver", to think about it, because I lacked emotional connection to it, but it did trigger a looot of thoughts on important and big matters such as environment and future of the earth, and I def want to read more Kingsolver, I think she writes so well about all this nature-y stuff.Delete
I plan on reading Flight Behavior sometime soon, too! Good luck with getting tons of reading done this week!!!ReplyDelete
It was a good book, although it didn't become my favourite. Thanks, good luck to you, too :)Delete
Robert's such a pretty kitty! Or a handsome kitty? LOL not sure how he would take being called "pretty".ReplyDelete
You did great on Tuesday! Staying away from Twitter (and the internet) definitely helps with reading more... sometimes I have to make myself get online and interact with the other readathoners because otherwise I'm so focused on reading :-p
Hah yes, maybe handsome, sometimes he shows very strong alpha-male feline character :pDelete
Thanks! I totally get it though - I also have to push myself to socialise at times, but the thing is once you get in it, it can be like "Ooops it's been five hours I've just loitered around in Twitter" kind of moment, which ain't good :D It's hard to find the balance.
Ha! I love your little additions to your daily update, especially "what my cats think." The Eyre Affair is on my TBR, I've been seeing Fforde's name pop up all over the place lately, everyone seems to love him.ReplyDelete
Thanks :) I like including my little furry buddies to everyday doings. And you are right - Fforde's name is everywhere and also most people really seem to enjoy him. Which is good! :DDelete
The Eyre Affair is excellent and definitely suitable as a reward for finishing the Kingsolver. Good luck!ReplyDelete
That's a good idea. I will allow myself to read The Eyre Affair once I finish the next book (which is a small and fast Bradbury).Delete
Sounds like you are making progress! Yeah! :) Glad staying away from Twitter helped. :)ReplyDelete
Thanks, Jess :) Feels good to move towards the set goals.Delete
You are doing great, and the wraps your boyfriend made sound yummy!!ReplyDelete
Haha yes :D I'm very lucky to have an awesome boyfriend as him. Thank you!Delete
