Bout of Books: Saturday

NOT the best day. We went to see the hockey match, from where I left some time half way when I started falling asleep on my feet. I was generally feeling meeeeeeeeh about everything and didn't read as much as I would have liked.

The books I read on Saturday: The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde.
Total pages read: 94 (only).
Total books finished: 2
What do my cats think: Again, nothing. Robert sniffed The Eyre Affair for a moment and turned away. It seems that he has no attraction whatsoever to this one.
Flavour of the day: Hmmmmm... The very strong flavour of spring outside, probably.

I am enjoying The Eyre Affair, and taking my time with it, enjoying the cleverness and the book-nerdness. Today is the last day of readathon, and even though it has been a-we-some, I feel like I don't mind it ending and knowing I can resume to normal reading/posting schedule :)

  1. I'm feeling a bit out of steam too. I didn't do much reading yesterday, although I did schedule quite a few reviews for my blog.
Bring on next week and the normal reading/posting schedules :)

    1. Amen to that. I did the biggest page count of the week today (thanks to The Eyre Affair being overall such a nice read), and I feel soooooo tired now. I look forward to the wrap up post and seeing how other's did in the scale of the whole week, though :)

  2. I'm also looking forward to getting back to my routine...I get a little crazy when I'm not in it.

The book-nerdness of The Eyre Affair is so clever, I loved it. Particularly the Shakespeare bits which link very nicely to The Marlowe Papers. I might get round to reading the rest of the series at some point, see if they're just as good.

Have a good final day :)

    1. Hey, I thought of the Marlowe Papers when they brought in Kit Marlowe! It did make me a little more attracted to the verse-book. I will definitely schedule the rest of the series to my reading routine, for a long time I have searched for suck light-ish but still intelligent read and I think I might have found it now :)

  4. Hmmm. Cats are funny things. Earlier this week my Domino was ROLLING on my Cupcake Cafe book like a hussy. The next morning, she tried to eat it. Today? Nothing. Maybe my dressing gown was just especially fluffy this morning and she didn't want to miss a moment's paddling opportunities, who knows.

Hope you're having a lovely sunny last day! :)

    1. I love your cat's name! Interestingly, I never got the chance to name my cats because they are both stray/shelter cats and were already named. But if I could I'd probably pick some entertaining literary name.

And yes they are funny. All the things they are willing to try and eat. Mine are very fond of all kinds of plastic bags. It's okay, only 1) the noise it generates is so irritating; 2) I am constantly worried that pieces of plastic end up in their bellies... Robert tried to groom The Eyre Affair today, he was the cover of it for a while :D

  5. I'm kind of looking forward to getting back to like as normal too. I love the extra reading motivation, but reading so many books at once means having to write a bunch of reviews in a short amount of time and all that blogging is burning me out! Lol.

I'm so glad you're enjoying The Eyre Affair!

    1. Yeah, thanks so much for the recommendation! I'm so gonna check out the next ones in the series. I also saw that Fforde has a few other series going, but I haven't read anything about them and wonder if they are as good. I am definitely curious and can see some Ffordes travelling my way in mail soon :)
