Bout of Books 10.0: [Day 5 & Day 6]

Hello everybody! It's the last day of Bout of Books, hope y'all have been reading all the books in the world, and having all the fun in the world. As for me, just as expected, Friday was a bit too busy to read a lot. We were out and then there was hockey game, and then it was already night... Last night we played Diablo III one hour too many, with Jan and a friend but I read here and there during day time.

I'm hoping to get a lot of Cinder done today, although there will be hockey and other things to interfere again (it's like summery degrees outside!).

Here's some #foodporn from Friday:

Paella with annato rice, vegetables, chorizo sausage, tiger prawns, chicken and sofrito.

Sangria.

Chocolate con Churros.

The books I read on Friday and Saturday: Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch, Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Pages read: 40 + 36 + 30% (115) = 191
Books finished so far: 1
About the books: I got to the place with Red Seas where a part of story kinda ended, and as it was obvious I'm not going to finish this beast during readathon, I put it aside for a bit and picked up Cinder in hopes of a fast read. Well, it's fast alright...

  1. Mmmm, yummy! We heard so much about churros y chocolate before we went to Spain, but in the end only stumbled across a churros cart that served them in a kind of paper cone... no chocolate to go with 'em, sadly. Still delicious though, and VASTLY better than the hotel food. :)

Have a wonderful last day of reading, I can't believe how fast this week's gone!

    1. I think having churros in Spain beats having churros with chocolate anywhere else ;) These ones were tasty and sprinkled with cinnamon, which gave an interesting although a bit Christmasy flavour.

  2. The food and drinks look so delicious! The weekend is a bit busy for me too, but trying to sneak in a bit here and there -- can't believe it's almost over already!

    1. I've never been disappointed in food in that specific restaurant, so it's always quite a safe bet. I hope you had a lovely weekend!

  3. Those tiger prawns look fantastic! I didn't get much into Diablo III, been meaning to give it another try since the patch.

    1. Diablo III isn't exactly something I'd gravitate to in my current state of life, but I have long and loving history with Diablo II, which I think plays a role. Plus most games are quite a lot of fun if you play it with 2 or 3 people and not alone :)

  4. Sounds like you've had a successful week! Cinder was likely a good choice for a quick and satisfying read. It was a hype book that I really liked. Red Seas Under Red Skies I also enjoyed (Though not as much as book one) but it is a big one and definitely has some very noticeable story shifts that are good break points.

    1. Cinder was a fast read, but I had quite a few issues with it. I'm still glad I read it, though. I don't know about Red Seas to be honest, it's true that a lot of novelty of the first book is not there anymore, but it's still a solid book so far, I think. I hope that things speed up now that the pirates come into play :)

  5. My husband is of Mexican decent, and churros and chorizo are part of his culture. But we've never had churros with chocolate. Thanks for the idea!

    1. I love me some Mexican food now and then - chorizo is so good! I don't know how churros are authentically served, I've only eaten them with chocolate, but cold chocolate dip complements churros pretty well, I think :)

    1. It was so good, although there was too much of it. That's why I hardly ever order appetisers in that restaurant.

  7. Oo, those sangrias look amazing! They look like the perfect companion drink for when you are reading Cinder.

    1. It was my first conscious try of sangria, and it makes a great warm weather drink - very refreshing :)
