The film rights have been sold and Cline (who is also a scriptwriter) is working on the script. I'd love to see Ready Player One on the big screen. In the meantime, I heartily recommend you read Ready Player One, and if you are an audio book fan, definitely listen to it and enjoy Wheaton's fantastic performance.
Best Reviews for Divorce Lawyer Seattle NewcombeAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00118707550077647899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-833552366782548505.post-88230359272588042992014-03-12T11:40:55.418+02:002014-03-12T11:40:55.418+02:00I didn't feel like he listed the references, a...I didn't feel like he listed the references, although maybe listing as such was pretty much "coded" into the form of the book in this case. I didn't have a big problem with it but I think I can see how if one is not completely taken with the book, there are things to criticise. Objectively, I don't think this is the best book in the world but since it was such a match for me personally at that given time, I decided to love it pretty much unconditionally. :) Rivhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04561804353287763337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-833552366782548505.post-15788677574296212022014-03-07T02:25:27.414+02:002014-03-07T02:25:27.414+02:00I spent an awful lot of time in the 90s in Discwor...I spent an awful lot of time in the 90s in Discworld MUD. I think I learned how to touch type playing that game, actually.

I enjoyed Ready Player One, but I wasn't as in love with it as a lot of people. I think I was a bit grumpy while reading it and just felt he could have incorporated the 80s references into the plot more, rather than just listing them so often. I really did enjoy it, though.Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10225859948546847678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-833552366782548505.post-57020257580860271172014-03-06T18:41:46.747+02:002014-03-06T18:41:46.747+02:00Yes, Marie! I spend far too much of my time playing computer games (not MMOs - my Nintendo DS is my prized possession) and also found it added so much to my enjoyment of this book, but it's so much fun that anybody could enjoy it. People are right. The book is awesome :)

Gaming is time consuming, or more precisely a time sink, which is why I've cut my gaming drastically. I maybe play once a week nowadays (if even that much - depends on my mood). I definitely prefer reading over games now :)

Jan's also a big game geek, we play MMOs together and then he has tons of single player games. I already said he has to read the book, will be interesting to see what he thinks of it. It's still just a dystopian book with an interesting plot, so it doesn't solely rest on the references alone, though they do add a lot of value.

I totally can see how if you are not connected to the early time games, they look really odd and ugly. Of course nowadays I also play games with neat graphics, but there's always a nostalgic spot in my heart for those older games :) Rivhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04561804353287763337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-833552366782548505.post-6765332308985283722014-03-03T05:39:32.955+02:002014-03-03T05:39:32.955+02:00I LOVED this book! I'm a gamer and though I play lots of different stuff, my passion is for MMORPGs (WoW, GW2, STO, SWTOR, LOTRO, etc. you name it I played it!) and I think every MMO gamer needs to read this one. I never got into gaming -- that may have had something to do with the fact that as a kid video game systems were not allowed in our house until I was past the stage where I might have been interested in them and then I never got into internet or computer games since I usually had my nose in a book. My husband is a different story. He has gotten back into Pokemon lately -- playing online and participating in races and things -- and I must admit, I really don't get it! But he likes what he likes and I like what I like, and that's fine by me. I most definitely married a geek though :)Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03215797870829907924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-833552366782548505.post-57775114678133111192014-03-02T10:53:52.376+02:002014-03-02T10:53:52.376+02:00I love your review and your nostalgic retrospectiv...I love your review and your nostalgic retrospective into your own gaming life :) Shooters? Wow, you are tough :)

I'm too damn young, and being born in 1991, haven't participated in all the awesomeness of the early games. And now I just can't, because I like the picture on my screen to be cute and can't stand old graphics... I already have this book on my e-reader, but I keep putting it off, because I'm a bit afraid I will not get all the references and feel stupid...Arenelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08646965847129179304noreply@blogger.com
